The Memovox E 855 is a landmark in watchmaking history as the first automatic alarm watch with a calendar function. Powered by the automatic manufacture calibre 825, it was introduced in 1959 and produced until 1969, with approximately 67,000 units made. Its distinctive “bumper” movement features an oscillating rotor that rotates about 270 degrees back and forth, using coiled springs for the bounce. This edition is the rarer 37mm jumbo version, with a silver dial and steel radium dauphine hands. The stainless steel case is in superb shape, and both crowns are original and signed. The movement runs well and the alarm is clear and functioning. A true collector's piece for vintage watch enthusiasts.
